United Nations Goodwill Ambassadors

The United Nations has a great number of Goodwill Ambassadors and Messengers of Peace from all around the world (normally high level celebrities from sports or the media; and some other notable public figures) representing a wide-range of different special programs, campaigns, and the numerous United Nations specialized agencies.

According to the United Nations, "we have a tradition of enlisting the volunteer services and support of prominent individuals from the worlds of art, sport, literature, and entertainment to highlight priority issues and to draw attention to our activities."
